Homemade Dutch Oven Bread
Freshly baked homemade bread has an irresistible aroma that will fill your kitchen with warmth and comfort. Using your Carolina Cooker® cast iron dutch oven for this simple recipe will create the most crispy and golden brown, crunch worthy crust with every bite! Bake fresh bread for sandwiches or to compliment your favorite soups all winter long.
Ingredients
2 cups lukewarm water, between 90°-110°F (30°-40°C)
1 envelope active dry yeast
4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
1½ teaspoons kosher salt
1 teaspoon olive oil
Directions
Step 01:
Mix together all ingredients and let rise overnight in a covered glass bowl
Step 02:
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees while slowly pouring the bread mixture into your Carolina Cooker® dutch oven
Step 03:
Let the bread bake for 30 minutes covered with the cast iron lid, then the last 15 minutes uncovered to crisp the exterior crust
Step 04:
Once you can stick a fork into the bread and it comes out clean - You're ready to enjoy fresh homemade bread!
