Prep: 15 minutes Cook: 8 minutes Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Moss® Hushpuppy Mix
  • 3/4 Cup Water
  • 1 Cup Pimento Cheese
  • 1/4 Cup Buttermilk

Directions

    1. In a bowl, mix together the hushpuppy mix and water to a batter consistency. You want the hushpuppy batter to sit for at least 15 minutes
    2. Heat your preferred cooking oil in a fryer or large skillet/dutch oven to 350 degrees
    3. Using a hush puppy tray or a large spoon, scoop the batter into the oil carefully, doing your best to keep the hushpuppies separated once they drop into the oil
    4. While the hushpuppies are frying, combine the pimento cheese and buttermilk in a bowl and mix to combine for the pimento cheese dip. Adjust for desired consistency by either adding pimento cheese to thicken or buttermilk to thin the dip
    5. Fry the hushpuppies until golden brown on both sides, about 6-8 minutes and remove to a plate lined with paper towels or a wire rack on a sheet tray
    6. Serve the golden brown hushpuppies along with the pimento cheese dip and enjoy!
