Dutch Oven Cobbler

Peaches mixed with sweet sugary goodness...what's not to love?! In this recipe, learn how to cook a traditional peach cobbler for your next camping trip using the Carolina Cooker cast iron dutch oven. This delicious dessert is sure to become a favorite around the campfire!

Ingredients

  • 1 Quart Canned peaches
  • 1 Cup pancake/biscuit mix
  • 1 Cup Whole milk
  • 1 stick unsalted Butter
  • 1 Cup Sugar

Directions

  1. If cooking over an open fire, reserve hot coals to place on top of lid
  2. Melt a full stick of unsalted butter in your Carolina Cooker dutch oven 
  3. Next, mix your canned peaches with sugar 
  4. In a separate bowl mix your biscuit mix with whole milk to form a batter
  5. Once your butter has melted, add in your batter mixture first followed by peaches and sugar mixture
  6. Cover your cobbler with lid; if cooking outside on an open fire, place hot coals on top of the lid. Can also be baked at 400 degrees in oven for 15-20 minutes 
  7. Check the cobbler after it bakes for 15 minutes to ensure it has browned and set. Cook to desired consistency. Enjoy!
